Chaplin’s World, an ambitious, large-scale interactive museum dedicated to Charlie Chaplin and his life’s work officially opened on 16 April in Corsier-Sur-Vevey, Switzerland. Designed by Philippe Meylanand, Yves Durand, and directed by Grévin, the museum finally opened after 16 years of work: market and feasibility studies, site renovation, and scenic design, as well as consultation and co-operation with Swiss authorities and stakeholders. A cult place for movie lovers and fans, Chaplin’s World is established as an exemplary cultural, touristic and economic project in the region.
Chaplin’s World By Grévin was looking for a partner to produce and organise the pre-opening event, which took place from the 15 until the 17 of April. The event was dedicated to partners, journalists, officials and VIPs.
- 800 guests on the 1st day
- 400 guests at the VIP evening
- 1,000 visitors
- 3 days of celebration
MCI delivered a high-energy experiential style production, with a strategic mix of Red carpet, photocall, live music, close-up entertainment, private visits of the manor and cocktail dinning in the studio. A press conference held in the attic of the manor attracted 140 national and international journalists guaranteeing appropriate visibility. With more than 800 guests on the first day, 400 guests at the VIP evening including Chaplin’s family and 1’800 visitors for the public opening, the 3 days of celebration were a big success for Chaplin’s World.
It took more than 16 years to bring this project to life and the results were beyond expectations. We’ve received incredible feedback from visitors.
